I try to keep my fees clear so you can decide whether counselling is viable for you without having to ask. If money is a real obstacle, please read the section below about reduced-fee places — they exist and I'd rather you knew.
To see whether I'd be a good fit for what you're bringing. No commitment to book a session afterwards, and I'll happily recommend a colleague if I'm not the right person.
The full session, in person at South Belfast or online via secure video. Same fee either way.
Sessions are paid by bank transfer within three days of the session, or in advance if you prefer.
I hold three reduced-fee places at any one time for people on a low income. There's no means-test — you just ask. More on this below.
Counselling has a real cost-of-living problem. I want to be straight about that. Below is what I can offer if my standard fee isn't workable for you right now.
If none of these work, I'd recommend looking at NHS talking therapies (free, but with waiting times) or local low-cost charities like Inspire or Counselling All Nations Belfast. I'm happy to point you toward the right service.
I hold three reduced-fee places at any one time at £35 per session. If one's available when you get in touch, you can have it for as long as you need.
I don't ask for proof of income or means-testing — if you say money is an obstacle, that's enough. The only thing I ask is that if your circumstances change and the standard fee becomes manageable, you let me know.
If you need to cancel or rearrange, I ask for 48 hours' notice where possible. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged at the full session fee.
I know life happens — illness, emergencies, the things you genuinely can't plan around. We'd handle those case by case. The 24-hour policy exists for the times when "I can't be bothered today" might otherwise win.
Payment is by bank transfer, due within three days of each session. I'll send a simple invoice. If you prefer to pay weekly in advance, that's also fine.
I don't take card payments at the moment — the fees would push session prices up and I'd rather keep them where they are.
I take three weeks off in summer (usually August) and two weeks at Christmas. I'll give you a month's notice of any planned break. I'd ask the same of you for anything more than a fortnight away.
I can provide receipts suitable for healthcare cash plans (Westfield, BUPA cashback schemes, etc.). Counselling isn't usually covered by private medical insurance for self-pay sessions, but receipts for tax-deductible purposes (where applicable for self-employed clients) are available.
If the fees work for you, the next step is the 15-minute call. No commitment beyond the conversation itself.
